The Operating Laboratory

PESTalytix is a technology-driven pest-control company in Central Massachusetts. It is where I apply data, automation, operational design, and AI to the realities of a live field-service business.

Operating model

Where the architecture meets real work.

Operating a field-service business changes the architecture question. Systems have to survive scheduling constraints, frontline use, customer expectations, and the economics of real work.

  1. 01

    Field operation

    Real work, real constraints

  2. 02

    Operational data

    Signal, context, history

  3. 03

    Intelligent workflow

    Decision, automation, action

  4. 04

    Customer and business outcome

    Clarity, service, operating value

Capabilities

Status is always stated

Nothing here is published without a status.

Applied work at PESTalytix spans shipped systems, live experiments, and ideas still on paper. Those are different claims, so each entry carries one of three labels and none of them is implied.

IN PRODUCTION
Running in the business today and relied on by the operation.
EXPERIMENT
Built and being tested against real work. Not yet depended on.
CONCEPT
Designed but not built. Included as direction, not as capability.
  • Sensor-based rodent monitoring

    IN PRODUCTION

Digital rodent monitoring across customer accounts: motion sensors and instrumented bait stations feeding a cloud data platform, with weather-adjusted activity baselines, deterministic action thresholds, and scheduled customer-facing reports.

  • RUPS Tracker

    IN PRODUCTION

A public, fully automated database of EPA and Massachusetts restricted-use pesticide registrations: scheduled Python pipeline, autonomous maintenance, live and independently checkable.

  • Regulator-mapped IPM plans

    IN PRODUCTION

Indoor and outdoor integrated pest management plans for Massachusetts childcare and school accounts, produced from a versioned template system that maps each section to its governing citation in 333 CMR 14.00 and passes a pre-delivery compliance checklist before anything reaches the on-site binder.

  • PEST AI

    EXPERIMENT

A public pest-management guidance chatbot built on a cloud function calling a managed LLM with a controlled system prompt.
